Events / Consumer Electronics Live! Manila 2009

DSC_5189

Three weeks ago, I went to CEL Manila 2009 (three real life weeks = 129387 online years). It was fun and okay, but fersure it did not beat last year's CEL. IMHO, last year's CEL is much mucho fun-er and better. T3 Philippines was still alive then and CEL sans T3 is just not as fun as T3 + CEL Manila. But still, the tech geek in me was satisfied and happy. Can't wait for CEL 2010! :-)

Random Thoughts / Past Weeks in Review

DSC_3644

Long time no nothing. Backlogged big time. Been quite busy the past days month. Well, not super duper back-breaking magtanim ay 'di biro levels busy...yet. Just no-time-to-post-anything busy.

DSC_3645

DSC_3647

So many things to share, stories to tell, photos to post...so little time. Or rather, chance.

DSC_4491

I hope I could post stuff as it happens via my brain but that's the stuff of scary sci-fi movies, hehe.

DSC_4701

Anyway.

DSC_4806

I've been through super highs and super lows recently—so many high-low moments that I constantly check my dear sanity if it's still there, hehe.

DSC_4823

Thank God it's still there. It just gets covered with layers upon layers of, stress, worries, anxieties...and then some.

All I need is a little superfriend-fam-pray-mag-internet-bookstore-supplies store-TV time and I'm good to go, chooks to go.

Magazines / Nokia? Haute Couture? Slims? Preview Supplement??

__

What is this? Is this a supplement to the November issue of Preview? My copy didn't come with this supplement.

I am going to the SMX for the CEL Manila event today and will drop by a bookstore to check this out. I do not know what I'll do if this is a free supplement to the November issue of Preview. I have my copy already and it didn't come with this! Oh dear.

Random Thoughts / Hello

DSC_4698x

Left early today for a writing seminar (or rather yesterday by the time this post gets published). As in 5:30 early. I'm not exactly a morning person, but congratulations cause I got to wake my sleepy ass for this event. Yay! And oh, bagong gising or not, my handwriting looks like that. Any time of the day, hehe. Too tard to post tonight. Will leave early again tomorrow for Day 2 of the seminar.

Long time no post.

And no, that's a McDonalds sign, you perv. I didn't get to eat breakfast so naturally, thoughts of food filled my semi-sleeping mind. I'm not sure why McDonalds though.

Last week, Kate, Curves, Bivan and I went to Ayala Museum for an event—the awarding and exhibit opening of Shell's annual National Students' Art Competetion! I didn't enter this year but my friend Xara did and yay—she's a finalist! Four other schoolmates were finalists too (one schoolmate actually got an honorable mention, this is his work). We got there just in time for the main event, the awarding and exhibit opening (we missed the first half of the program). After the program, they served packed dinner for everybody (and a sit-down dinner for the extra-special guests). Booze was served too I guess, but it didn't matter much to us because we don't drink. It was a nice night.

Blog Update / Tech Booboo

Am I on a multi-month/extended mercury retrograde mode? Or I'm just malazz tech-wise? I don't want to be nega and all but I can't help but share my tech boo boo list, haha.

  • A few months ago, I lost my phone (on my birthday eve, of all days).
  • My external HDD is still as frozen as the fish and peas in our freezer (read: sira, can't say the C word for OA/OC reasons).
  • Every time I try to post something and/or blog, the innernet decides to stop working. And just recently, the power lines decided to take some time off.
  • Now, my poorita-neanderthal-stone-age-piece-of-metal and plastic junk-machine we usually call a laptop decided to give me a headache and not work well. It's not totally dead yet. Something is wrong—I can't figure out what it is. Probably hardware related. I spent the whole saturday night trying to troubleshoot the darn thing (of course, I did that in between MMK, PBB, and NNNN + Bananasplit + Sports Unlimited! Look at what no-pc/internet is doing to me, I get to watch lots of TV!), but it still won't werq well. Now, I'm left with this ultra-slow-neanderthaltastic-stone-age-ice-age-times-two desktop computer. My brother has an okay laptop but nevermind (the P word is as big as Texas hahalol). A slow/chaka PC is better than no-PC at all. Bye.
But I'm okay. I just have to take my mind off these things for a while. I have other things to do anyway, like go through my growing pile of unread newspapers; or actually read my magazines (hahaha...aminin...), or make lists of other things to do, plus other random things.

Speaking of techie things...CEL Manila 2009 is almost here!
